I'm planning to get extensions for this party, my hair is layered, medium length, goes down to a little past my boobs, and is very curly so i straighten it. They say since extensions are straight their easier to take care of then my crazy curly hair, are they? Or are they harder? Also, I had a dream last night that I got them, and they looked weird, they didn't look finished though. Should I not get extensions? I really want them!

Extensions do not make hair easier to take care off, its just extra hair, so more work. They are nice on short hair, but you sound like your hair is frizzy and curly so if you just straighten it alone your hair will appear longer. Let your hair grow out naturally though, wash it at least twice a week, and get trims every few months. Here are some pro's and con's:

-looks weird on curly hair

-can make your hair to big if you naturally have full, thick hair

-Expensive

Also; a new look could be anything like layers, sidebangs, highlights, low lights, or new color; not just longer hair.

The dream is probably just a reflection of your worst fear with getting extensions. I say try it! You'll never know unless you try. Besides you can always get them taken out if you don't like them. As for the upkeep, it's probably the same amount as what you are doing now.

If you get straight extensions in your curly hair you are going to look funny because they don't match. You would have to style your hair every day either straight or curly to make it look normal. every time girls at my school got extensions they had to curl it so that it didn't look stringy, and it stood out as being fake because it is noticeable longer then there hair.
