I don't mean cutting it. I mean like ways I can do my hair. I have shoulder-length hair that is medium-thick and straight. Any ideas? Please? If this helps at all, I have color treated hair that is medium brown.

try a half ponytail with bangs left down (if you even have bangs), ponytail, messy bun, two low pigtails......... and if you want waves, braid ur hair when it's wet and then sleep on it and take it out in the morning and comb it out.........

You could go with the wavy look.
After you take a shower, put your hair into about 4 to 7 braids and blow dry them alittle. Then leave them in over night. In the morning, blow dry them some more untill they are completely dry. (If they are not completely dry it wont work.) Then take them out and it looks really good! The more braids you put in your hair, the smaller the waves are going to be.

Ok I just learned this today in my hair place. it is called the flip tail.
1.hold chin down toward chest and make a low ponytail. tie off with an elastic.
2.reach underneath the ponytail and use your finger and thumb to make a hole right in the middle of your hair above the elastic.
3. with your other hand,twist the ponytail, grab it with your fingers that are making the hole, and pull it through. If u need anymore ideas, put up a question for emailnerd under hair. Hope I could help!
