Messy hairstyle?

Do you need a specific length and type of hair for this syle to work? I keep trying at getting the messy hairstyle, but cant get it. Any tips?

(i have thickish black hair that is medium length)

I use to have short hair and the best thing i used to get the messy look was this stuff Regis Design Line Molding Glue. Max 5. It works better when you have semi straight hair and it takes more work if you have extremely thick hair, like i do. But just put some of that on there and style your hair or straighten it with that stuff in your hair.

Talk to your hairstylist or a beauty care rep they will assist you on trying different liquids to achive this goal. And your actual hair has alot to do with it aswell. My best advice is work with not against your hairs natural beauty.
